The key to an amazing makeup day or even makeup free day is really focusing on skin prep ( I really cannot stress this enough!)
There is nothing worse than applying lip products on dry chapped or cracked lips.
Not only do you not get the most flattering finish but it can also be uncomfortable and irritating.
The key to good lip prep is lots of nourishment and a good amount of the right exfoliation (not too harsh but with enough power to really work on getting rid if any dead skin that needs to be gone)
If you are on a budget (even if your’e not!) and need something that really works the the E.L.F Cosmetics lip exfoliator is the one for you!
Why I love it!
The packaging on this is amazing, the ingredients are lovely and it gets top marks for convenience and ease of use.
It is a great companion for on the go, it leaves my lips soft and super smooth and my lip products glide on top effortlessly.
The fact that it has sugar granules means that it really works into the skin.
Ingredients to rave about!
This lip exfoliator began with the humble Brown Sugar stand alone product and now the line has an additional three scents; cherry, coconut and mint.
Each one is packed with sugar and infused with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape (second ingredient on the list) and Jojoba Oils to nourish and protect. This Lip Exfoliator treats and smoothes lips for a conditioned and smooth feel.
It has both the nourishing and exfoliating elements you need from a lip scrub!
This is the best feature of this exfoliator.
I really find fiddly scrubs in a pot hard to work with as they can get pretty messy.
The E.L.F cosmetics lip exfoliator is packaged conveniently in a lipstick tube and the bullet shape makes application a breeze!
It looks sleek and elegant and takes up hardly any space in your bag.
You simply twist up the bullet and gently apply a few sweeps over lips until you feel enough gritty sugar granules to work with.
I then work the product into my lips using my finger until the dead skin layers come off (gross I know!)
For best results and if your lips are particularly going through a rough time I would recommend leaving the scrub on your lips for a few minutes so the oils really work into the skin and soften any particularly stubborn skin.
I would then remove the excess product using a tissue or cotton pad and then apply your favourite lip balm which leaves your lips smooth and plump!
