I usually skip eye creams and have done for many years and just use my normal face cream as an eye cream. There are lots of debates if face creams are too heavy for the eye or if face creams do the job equally well.
However for me the real game changer has been the discovery of eye serums and in particular the milky, hydrating full of natural ingredient ones!
What I love about Sukin skincare (and this eye serum in particular) is that it is full of natural ingredients and has an ethos that believes that ‘Skincare that doesn’t cost the earth™’ and it is a very environmental conscious company
This is an Australian Made product that is Natural, Cruelty Free, Vegan & Carbon Neutral.
It is Free From: Sulphates, Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances, Animal Derivatives, Harsh Detergents, Propylene Glycol, Artificial Colours, Triethanolamine & Mineral Oils.
The Key Ingredients are Aloe Vera, Cucumber, Burdock Oil and Rosehip Oil which are soothing, nourishing and hydrating which is a perfect combination for the delicate eye area!
The combination of aloe vera, cucumber and burdock is soothing and and calming for the under eye area. As it is a creamy base it does not give the cooling or de-puffing sensation to the skin that you would imagine cucumber or aloe vera to give.
However it does offer deep rehydration to the delicate eye area and is perfect for those with dry or dehydrated skin but also works well to reduce the appearance of dark circles.
It is aimed more at reducing fine lines and wrinkles through the richly moisturising ingredients and to improve the overall texture and elasticity of the skin.
The packaging is simple and convenient.
It comes with a pump dispenser to measure out the right amount of product to use arounfd the delicate eye area.
I really appreciate the dark coloured bottle to protect the contents from sun exposure and tat it is made of glass rather than plastic so it is recyclable.
Texture and Application.
This has a very creamy lotion like consistency but also has a thickness to it.
It isn’t a thin serum by any means and does take some time to sink into the skin.
For this reason I like using it at night time so throughout the night it works into the skin and does its magic. It does feel like a moisturising eye mask more than a serum.
It has a very natural gentle scent to it.
To apply simply pat onto the skin around the eye after cleansing before following with an eye cream (if you need extra hydration, I really think it is potent enough to do the job as a stand alone product)
This is a great product for the price! You get 30ml (1 fl o.z) for just £14.95 and is available form most drugstore and health shops.
It does a great job at moisturising the under-eye without leaving it oily or greasy.
What I love most is that is full of amazing natural ingredients minus all the nasties so if your new years resolution is all about cleaner beauty products and reducing your carbon footprint then this is the product for you!
