I am very particular when it comes to mascara and I feel that everyone has a very individual requirement from the Mascara they need.
Some require length and lift, others volume and curl the options are endless!
The Kevyn Aucoin The Curling Mascara ticks all my mascara needs and this is why!
Does it do what it says?
This Mascara is pitch black which is a must for me and really fans out and lifts my already curly lashes whilst giving them length and lusciousness.
It is definitely a very curling mascara but what i love about it is that it holds the curl all day without any trouble at all!
This has a long wand with tapered bristles.
I like to remove all the excess product and brush through my lashes in an upward and outward motion in thin layers.
One coat is usually more than enough but if you want an eye look with extra impact and drama go in with a second coat.
Do be careful not to apply too much product as your lashes can get clumpy.
The metal tube with the classic ombre deep plum colour is sleek, elegant and stunning.
It is very slim lined and takes up hardly any space in your makeup case.
It is a twist top closure that stops the product from drying out effectively.
Wear time and removal.
this is a very jet black formula that claims to be ” smudge-proof, flake-proof & tear-proof; but easy to remove”.
I would say its good with the waterworks, but if you rub your eyes you will be in a bit of a mascara ruined makeup situation.
It tends to ball off rather then flake as it is quite a wet formula that sets soft rather then cruchy but with amazing hold.
So that being said its not totally fool proof.
Removal can also be a bit tricky as this mascara holds on to your lashes with dear life and needs an oil cleanser to break it down followed by a good micellar water to remove any left over stubborn bits.
Overall this is a great performing Mascara that does what it says.
It gives lashes a beautifully defined and fluttery curled effect that looks amazing!
It is pricey at £22 a tube however, a little goes a long way and if you have good lashes to begin with this really competes with false lashes in terms of drama and effect.
