Review and Swatches of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer in shade 8 Medium.

I love Charlotte Tilbury products, her eye and lip pencils are soft and rich yet long lasting, her look in a palettes are stunning and there is something for everyone within her range!

Her products are pricey and won’t cater for everyones budget, however the quality of her products are truly worth the price tag.

The newest addition to my collection is her Magic Away concealer and this is why I love it!

What is it good for?

This a very full coverage liquid concealer that reduces the appearance of fine lines, is great for covering blemishes and dark circles adn gives a luminous glow to the skin.

It is great for anyone that needs heavy coverage with a lightweight feel without much fuss.

Texture and Application:

This is a great liquidy textured concealer which caters for all your high coverage needs and wants.

Its is smooth and creamy but has a rich thickness to it so you can apply it where you need to and blend in effortlessly.

The tube itself comes with a sponge-tip applicator that is tapered at the end into a point so you can get into small areas easily.

I do find that this makes dispensing the right amount of product difficult and I feel that a lot of it is wasted as the sponge tip does get very saturated with the concealer.

Once applied you can blend in using your fingers which works really well or use a beauty blender to tap the product into your skin smoothing away any creases.

Shade Range:

It is easy to find your shade using the Charlotte Tilbury website where it tells you the tone, undertone and provides a picture with a model’s before and after picture to guide you through which shade will be the best fit for you.

There have recently been new additions to the initial launch where some in between shades have been added to cater for a wider range of skin tones.

Shade 8 is Golden peach for medium to tan skin with cool undertones. Although my skin is med-tan as with all concealers I think my perfect shade with be a blend of two shades. In this case I need to mix it with shade 7 which is Golden sand for medium skin with neutral and warm undertones.

Packaging:

I have a love and hate relationship with the packaging.

While it is absolutely stunning and looks luxurious in all its rose gold glory it has features that I wish were different.

the lid keeps the product securely closed and prevents it drying out but it can be quite difficult to open at times.

The sponge tip applicator wastes a lot of product and can be difficult to clean, but it does make applying the concealer easily on the go.

I suppose it is up to personal preference!

Skincare benefits:

Enriched with glycine, Persian silk tree bark extract (which stretches across imperfections and smooths over to form a ‘second skin’ finish).

Contains Palmitoyal Glycine, also known as the BLISS MOLECULE, helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Also contains extract of Wild Indigo, a native Indian plant used in ayurvedic tradition that helps to enhance the skin’s luminosity an reduces redness.

This is particularly great for more mature skin or those that have fine lines as it also plumps skin, leaving it firm, smooth and ‘lifted’ as well as beautifully even.

Final thoughts:

Apart from a few packaging details I really do love the finishing this gives my skin and the way it covers up my dark circles without looking dry or ashy.

It is worth the price as a little does go a long way and it makes me feel confident that my problem areas are taken care of.
