Review and Texture shot of the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising lotion+. A moisture hug for parched skin!

I have struggled with dry skin my whole life, what I discovered later on in my skincare journey is that I didn’t address my skin issues correctly because my skin is not just dry, but dehydrated. I needed to retain and lock in hydration by having a layered skincare routine rather then going in with heavy, thick creams that sealed in my dry skin.

I have been using The Clinique dramatically different moisturising lotion+ for many many years now and I am still obsessed with it!

What makes it different?

This cream is part of the famous 3 step skincare routine we all know Clinique for. It is for very dry to combination skin ( although it can be a little heavy if you suffer from a particularly oily t-zone). It leaves my face soothed and glowing. It absorbs easily and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day. It tackles dry patches of skin and gives my complexion a smooth and more even finish.

This is a lightweight non greasy lotion that has a very comforting balm like feel on the skin without any oily residue. It is comfortingly thick enough but sinks into the skin almost instantly. I also love the pale sunshine yellow colour, it just makes me happy!

This comes in either a large bottle with a pump ( I have gone through numerous of these bottles and love them.) They are also available in a smaller travel friendly squeezy 30ml bottle which I currently have for on the go!

No parabens. No phthalates. No fragrance.

It does contain Glyceryl and Mineral oils.

Cucumber and Barley extract, sesame oil and sunflower seed cake.

Lanolin Alcohol- Emollient derived from Lanolin. A fatty alcohol that can greatly benefit dry skin because it helps defend against moisture loss and maintain a supple feel on skin.

Urea (synthetic) – A moisturising substance that promotes water retention within the skin. In small amounts, urea has beneficial water-binding and mild exfoliating properties for skin.

I use this in the morning and evening and massage into my face and neck area in sweeping motions. I love that I don’t need a separate day and night cream and it applies beautifully. It sinks into the skin easily giving a dewy glowy finish without looking shiny or greasy. It layers easily over other serums and treatments and acts as a great makeup primer. My makeup glides flawlessly over the lotion and does not stick to my dry patches (which I rarely get anymore).

Final Thoughts.

I am sure you have already guessed that I really enjoy this lotion and will carry on repurchasing. It does also come in a gel form if you have oily skin. I would try the travel size before committing to the full size. I love the texture and the ease of use. I prefer it during the harsher winter months where my skin feels dryer. This smoothes the skin making it plumper and more supple! A moisturising hug for dry.
