Review and texture shots of the Pixi Skintreats Overnight Glow serum on sensitive skin!

Its no secret that I am a huge Pixi skincare fan and not only do I love their mists and tonics but have fallen in love with their Overnight Skin Serum! I generally sensitive skin so when it comes to exfoliants and acids I have to be super careful not to over do it and carefully select products that are effective yet not too abrasive. Although this is a “concentrated exfoliating gel” that is a glycolic-rich (10%) formula, I have found it to be kind to my skin and the fact that it is an overnight serum is great for someone like me if you tend to forget how long you have left a product on your face and estimations are not always great for time specified treatments! (I learnt this the hard way!)

Formula and Ingredients:

This serum is formulated with 10% glycolic acid & arginine which help reduce fine lines give your skin a brighter glowy complexion and even out skin tone. If you have hyper-pigmentation (as a lot of us do) it helps to even that out (but doesn’t work total miracles, hyper-pigmentation correction is a journey in itself and requires consistency and patience)
It is also enriched with cucumber & aloe vera extracts to calm skin and vitamins A, C & E to nourish which is possibly why my skin is loving it so much!

Consistency and scent:

Definitely not what you would expect from a serum. This has a thick gel like consistency that feels cooling and nourishing on the skin. It is easy to get the required amount because it isn’t runny and doesn’t slip through your finger (my pet peeve!) Having said that it does leave your skin quite tacky and sticky which can take some getting used to. The scent is quite chemically but not too offensive or over powering and i can look past it as the results are worth it.

Packaging and Application:

The serum comes in a small 30ml glass bottle with a dropper in the signature Pixi green which is a beautiful shade. The dropper is perfect fro dispensing the required 2-3 drops as the consistency is quite thick as mentioned before so the packaging is well thought of and perfect for this formula. This serum should be applied in the evening after cleansing and toning but before moisturising . It is a great way to let the product work as you sleep.

Results on my dry and sensitive skin:

I wake up with a glowy well rested complexion and my skin always looks more even and healthy and dare I say it is even softer and smoother. I don’t use this every night, 3-4 times a week just to stay on the safe side however I still love the results. As with all acids it is important to protect your skin from sun exposure using a good spf (you should be doing this anyway but I would definitely not skip this step after using acids and exfoliants)
