I have combination, dry, oily and dehydrated skin with the occasional appearance of hormonal acne. My skin type changes seasonally and whenever it decides it wants to, so that being said I was on the look out for a oil that would cater to my skin needs (if thats at all even possible- asking for a miracle much?)
I came across the Caudalie Vine(Activ) overnight detox oil and bought it out of curiosity because I already love their mists and serums. I thought I would give this a try especially as it quite bravely states that it is suitable for “all skin types”!
Ingredients: This 100% natural concentrate that claims to revitalise the skin overnight (which I really think it does!) The oil contains some beautiful ingredients which I appreciate about Caudalie products in general. It is rich in Omega 6 and Vitamin E which is great for repairing and adding plumpness to stressed and dehydrated skin. This is further supported by the other ingredients in this oil including; musk rose oil and essential oils of neroli, lavender, carrot, white sandalwood and petitgrain.
The formula also : contains 100% ingredients of natural origin
– Is Fragrance-free, free of added preservatives.
– Is Dermatologically tested.
-And as with all Caudalie products, no parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, mineral oils or animal-derived ingredients are used.
Formula, consistency and how to use it: This is a very lightweight dry oil that sinks into the skin beautifully without leaving a heavy residue. It has a very plant like scent (almost like a pond?) that takes a bit of getting used to but much like a green smoothie you feel the benefits. It is recommended to use 6 drops of this onto clean skin before a moisturiser. I feel like 4-5 drops is ore than enough for my plump cheeks and I like dropping the product directly onto my face so I don’t waste any product. I use a light moisturiser or serum over it sometimes but my skin feels sufficiently moisturised with the oil by itself!
Packaging and Price: This costs rrp £30 for a 30ml/1 fl oz bottle (special discounts listed below) which I think is a fair price for the ingredients and formula. The packaging is stunning. I love the glass bottle and the deep green colour is very representative of the natural ingredients and scent of the oil! The most ingenious part is the pipette which dispenses the product. I have a love/ hate relationship with pipettes in general, especially when it comes to products that are very thin like this oil. However the fact that the end of this pipette is ergonomically curved, saves you from the frustrating mess that can occur with other dispensers like this. I feel like you have more control and it is easy to use!
Overall thoughts: My skin feels radiant, looks glowy and well rested the morning after and it is so easy to incorporate this into your skincare routine! I feel like I am adding good nutritious ingredients on my skin. It is light weight, hasn’t given me any break outs, deals with my dry patches without making my skin oily. Overall its a winner!
